Unfortunately though, my older mobile is not responding to the change. Meaning, no new tab (blank or otherwise) is getting opened when I touch the new tab button now. And moreover, the settings page shows up completely blank for me. Option to change the URL is NOT showing up in the settings page. So, the addon probably has some incompatibility with my mobile's model/android version. I am in Android 5.0.2 (an India mobile company model named 'Swipe Elite Plus'). However, it appears you have the new tab open up completely blank as of now (you seem to be using the code "about:blank"). While some users might like it this way, the rest of us like me would lean toward the Firefox's default tab page, which I guess opens with the code "about:home". So, my request is, could you please give the users an option to choose between "about:blank" and "about:home" when the new tab gets opened using your button? In case if that is hard to achieve with Firefox Quantum, you could instead give us a box in the options page wherein we could enter "about:blank" or "about:home". As an example, another add-on named "Home Button for firefox on android" provides the users with a box like this, wherein we could key in the actual page that the add-on button would open.
