MineWeather is a Firefox add-on that allows you to customize your new tab page with blocky video game scenes that change based on the weather. It offers unique images for 8 different weather conditions, dynamically adjusts to the time of day, and provides fast resizing to ensure images always fill the screen. The add-on also offers infrequent background updates to keep the weather current without causing battery drain. Switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit is simple, and the add-on is completely local and private with no data collection.
